At The Huntington Beach Church of Religious Science

This pianist for the Huntington Beach Church of Religious Science is the father of three. He and his lovely wife, Sharon, live in the upscale Rossmoor area of Los Alamitos, California. If you check back with us here periodically, we'll keep you updated on their comings and goings so you can burgle their house while they're on vacation.

Rob is a graduate of the Juilliard School in New York. Aside from his work here, he's active in the opera and musical theater community as an accompanist and music director. He's also an expert chef and often shares his exotic recipes with the other musicians on Sunday mornings when he's not struggling with the crossword puzzle.

Rob is usually the person in the band who's not lost on the page. He is responsible for cueing the band, though. And as good as he is at not getting lost on the page... that's how bad he is at cueing the ending of a song. In fact, during the six years he's spent at the church's current location, which makes about 312 Sundays, he's had to cue the endings of approximately 624 of Debi Wheeler's featured solos. (This doesn't include any of the music played before the service, after the service or in between segments of the service.) In those 6 years, it would be safe to say that he's cued the endings of 2 songs in a way that would cause the entire band to end at the same time. Every other time, the song would end with the word "whoops" the way a minister ends a prayer with the word "amen."

He likes to be thoughtful about his health too. One time, he came in on a Sunday morning and announced that he saw a deal at the drug store the night before. It was a liver cleanser. He had thought to himself, "You know, I haven't cleaned my liver in a while. It could probably use it." He also noticed on the shelf next to the liver cleanser, a colon cleanser. He figured his colon was probably as filthy as his liver... like a an old vacuum cleaner bag... and that it needed a good scrubbing. Besides, they were on sale, two for one, so he decided to buy both and take them that night.

He was surprised by his body's reaction, but not in a good way. He had problem with concentration the next morning and the cues were more unusual than the band was accustomed to.
